Description

A number of comprehensive exhibition catalogs have already been published on Bill Viola's fifty-year oeuvre, which is why the Museum der Moderne Salzburg, in close cooperation with Studio Bill Viola, decided to produce a publication that focuses on the artist's texts. From this basic idea, a concept developed that dialogically contrasts a selection of Viola's texts with the writings of personalities who significantly influenced him. Bill Viola in Dialogue: Selected Writings and Lectures is designed as a reader that offers those interested the opportunity to explore the visual work of this important artist even more deeply through his own precise and pictorial language and to get to know the artistic and philosophical resonance space that shaped his thinking .

Edited by Otto Neumaier and Thorsten Sadowsky for the Museum der Moderne Salzburg
