Bill Viola in Dialogue
Selected Writings & Lectures
Description
Several comprehensive exhibition catalogs have already been published on Bill Viola's oeuvre, which now spans five decades. That is why the Museum der Moderne Salzburg, in close consultation with the Bill Viola Studio, has decided to produce a publication focusing on the artist's writings. Based on this original idea, a concept developed that involves dialogical juxtapositions of selections from Viola's texts with the writings of individuals who significantly influenced him. Bill Viola in Dialogue: Selected Writings and Lectures is conceived as a reader offering interested readers an opportunity to explore this major visual artist's work in greater depth through his own precise and vivid language and to familiarize themselves with the space of artistic and philosophical resonance that has shaped his thinking.
