Heaven is a wide space
Description
"Everything had the same priority, Bea, the things I sewed; I had the same availability for everything.” – Marisa Merz
This publication accompanies the artist Marisa Merz's first solo exhibition in Austria and in German-speaking countries in over ten years. Born in Turin, Italy in 1926, the artist is considered the only female representative in the circle of Arte Povera, which emerged in Italy in the 1960s with works of art using everyday and natural materials. The exhibition and publication trace the genealogy of Marisa Merz's extraordinary artistic work and span five decades.
